My Approach to Therapy

My commitment to evidence-based practice and a deep understanding of human development shapes my approach. Whether working with clients from approximately 10 years to adulthood, I draw on various skills, including individual, group, and couples’ psychotherapy, as well as psychometric assessment. I believe that a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of healing and lasting change.

Dr Kritzinger has extensive experience treating clients across various age groups and with complex mental health presentations.

  • Mood and Anxiety: Anxiety-related conditions, Depression, Mood Disorders.
  • Life Adjustments & Trauma: Adjustment challenges, Trauma and Grief.
  • Relational Health: Relationship difficulties, Couples’ Psychotherapy, and Group Therapy.
  • Neurodiversity & Personality: ADHD, challenges related to Neurodiversity, as well as problematic Personality traits and related Disorders.
  • Other Clinical Issues: Eating Disorders, Substance Dependence, and Psychosis.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Focused on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.
  • Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy: Specialised therapeutic approaches for children and teens, including support for parents/families.
  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: Exploring deeper, underlying psychological processes to facilitate long-term change.
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT):  A therapeutic modality utilising skill-building to navigate emotional and social challenges constructively.
